Customer reviews
Doro 5516 is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Features good - battery life terrible If you want a basic simple phone the features, ease of use and clarity of screen are excellent. If you expect the charge to last more than a day even if you don't use the phone look elsewhere!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Elegant Phone I was having trouble with my Android smartphone, always wanting to update apps that I didn't want and couldn't get rid of. In the end it stopped working altogether. And that is when I decided to buy a feature phone. I looked around extensively before buying a 5516. I wanted a 3g compatible phone so I could use my 3g sim card and get email etc on my new phone. I like physical keys and have been amazed by how accurate the predictive text is. If you don't use predictive text it takes 4 button presses to get an "s". If you use predictive text, it will usually pick exactly the word you are looking for. The 5516 has 2 metal contacts on the outside which connect with terminals in the charging cradle (buy that separately). So that means that you are charging the phone without having to use the industry-standard (but fiddly) micro-USB connector. As far as I can tell, Doro is the only company with this feature. Battery life is so good that most of the time I have the 5516 in it's cradle it isn't being charged. A single button press puts the camera light on, and this is needed in today's dark restaurants when reading the menu. The other single button shortcuts are useful too. It is nice to have the physical buttons. They are not embarassingly big, but are plenty big enough to use easily. I added my email account to my 5516, and can read and write email with it. Not as good as a smartphone in this regard, but it works and is OK. Usually I deal with email from my PC. I haven't used the internet on the 5516, or the notes or alarm or calculator - yet. The "top 10" phone numbers is a good feature. I have 4 family members in that category - and this makes it easy to call them. I have started to use the "blacklist" feature. After receiving a nuisance call, I add that number to the blacklist. The weather feature is useful, and I set it to my home town. The 5516 is beautiful to look at, and the person who designed it's exterior has done a very good job. It will take a 32gb memory card, so I put a 16gb memory card in. I chose that to store my messages and photos. The exterior of the 5516 doesn't scream old-persons-phone. I am very happy with this phone. And I would definitely recommend it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Battery life Why does the battery go flat every day even if not used? My previous Doro 508 didn't have this problem. As to whether I would recommend it woulld be tied to if it could be fixed

Rated 4 out of 5 by from No Carrying case I am well pleased with my Doro 5516 phone which is reliable and simple to use. My only complaint is that there is no special carrying case or pouch made to fit this phone. My hopr is that Doro co.uk wil consider makin one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simplicity - For Ease Of Use The dross on mobile phones known as additional features, I wanted to be kept to a minimum, and this phone does well in that respect. As an older person sound qualtity was at the top of my list followed by large text and simple operation. all those items were close to excellent or exceeded.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect phone for Exam period Keeps me away from abyss of the social network sites and really helped me find who I was. It's simple easy to use, and the games are fun, but not addictive...Perfect! Although it would be great if the camera was better in low light.
